 Publikation der Dissertation "Fantasy Quest" beim Südwestdeutschen Verlag für Hochschulschriften im März 2009 " John Ronald Reuel Tolkien schuf mit seinem Epos Herr der Ringe den Ausgangspunkt für ein neues Genre: die Fantasy Literatur. Die Verfilmung durch Peter Jackson hielt sich zwar nicht zur Gänze an die Vorlage, doch er setze wiederum einen neuen Maßstab für den Fantasyfilm. Charakteristische Filminhalte und die sterotypische Darstellung des Heldentums, sowie die Rolle der Frau, Mythen und literarische Vorbilder werden dem Publikum in den Filmen offeriert. Es wurde versucht überblicksmäßig die mythologischen Komponenten und Bezug auf ihre ethnologischen, religiösen und archäologischen Wurzeln hin zu analysieren. Auf Basis dieses Zuganges erschien es möglich, eine Eingrenzung bei den Mythentheorieentwürfen zu unternehmen, die sich hinsichtlich des Fantasyfilms als zielführend erwiesen. In der Analyse der Filme findet eine dargestellte Körperlichkeit der Frau im Fantasy-Kino Berücksichtigung, unter anderem mit einem Exkurs zum Hexenfilm. Das Genre Fantasy erfährt eine ablehnende Haltung seitens der Filmwissenschaft. Diese Arbeit soll jedenfalls zu einer Erhöhung der Akzepanz dieses filmgeschichtlichen wichtigen Genres beitragen."
